About the event
(Saplings Watering Drive in Bangalore University campus)The Jnanabharathi Campus of Bangalore University, Bangalore, Karnataka, India has developed a Bio-park within its campus which is spread over an area of around 800 acres. Water bodies like check dams for harnessing both surface and groundwater have been developed in this park which has contributed to the increase in water table (about 6 ft). About four lakh different types of plants have been planted within the campus which has attracted a variety of Birds, butterflies, etc. The park is also acting as a Carbon sink providing lung space within Bangalore city.Since the rainy season is over, we need to take care of recently planted plants and trees by watering them on a regular basis, and also cleaning the plantation area. Please join hands in the initiative.
